2014 Summer

Summer has come and gone. We had family visit, played with friends, Landon continued to go to school (MBA). We stayed busy and had fun, medical school is back in business and I am trying to stay occupied with Landon being gone.
Here we go for picture overload!

A lot of these pictures depict what summer should be. Ice-cream, taking baths in the pool, baseball, playing with friends and family.

Medical Mission in the Dominican Republic

Landon applied and got selected along with 5 other students to go with some professors to the Dominican Republic on a Medical Mission for 6 days.
It was such a neat experience for him. They stayed busy doing health assessments, passing out tooth brushes, toys and medications. They saw a thousand people in 2 days.
 - One older lady who had been deaf for 10 years came to Landon with fevers. He looked in her ears and scooped out wax/debri/sand and this lady could hear again.
- Another lady came to him with headaches and her eye had been hurting and couldn't see out of it. They looked deep into her eye and noticed a big tumor behind it. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do.
- A baby sat on Landon's lap that had a parasite but Landon had to inform them that the last antiviral had just been given out.
- Another lady came to Landon who had been passing out and feeling a heavy chest. He listened to her heart and guessed that it was a Mitral Valve prolapse so he called over a professor and sure enough he was right.

With all that hard work and many medications passed out Landon felt like he didn't leave a permanent solution for these people in the Dom. Republic. He is now planning to go back next year with a few goals in mind:  1- To team up with Rockhurst University (where he is earning his MBA through) to advance their hospital administration practices.  2- that they can drill some wells so these people have clean water and don't continue to get parasites. 3- provide education and vaccinations.
The Kansas City Royals have a training camp down there where Landon was able to get back to his roots as an athletic trainer and do some sports physicals.  After doing a thorough work-up on each athlete, he was able to go out and play on their practice field!

After all their hard work he was able to get out in the ocean water and have a little fun.

Spring Time

The night before Easter Landon and I went to a dance at the church. It was so much fun to just be ourselves and dance together.
Easter is so fun with little kids. Emma loved waking up to a basket and candy.

A few extra pictures for kicks and giggles. Literally..... giggles... look at those glasses on her head. Ha Ha oh she cracks me up.

A Breath of Fresh Air

The weather here has been great lately. I have been able to get out, go on walks, get to the zoo, enjoy some sunshine and get Emma's energy out. The more I am in Kansas City the more I like it. I'm still getting to know my friends better and making new friends.

Emma has been so cute lately (even with her messy hair). She talks a TON, she is learning so much and remembers EVERYTHING. She learned the word "scary" and it is so cute when she uses it. When she sits on the counter top and gets close to the edge she says "to scary". Emma likes fruits and vegetables, is usually pretty good about going potty by herself. She is really good about saying Thank You, even if it is "Sank You". She is a great big sister to "Coo Coo" and I love when she can make him laugh. He loves to watch us do Ring a Round the Rosie.

Cooper is a little sweetheart. He is 8 months old and can sit up now, he has taken a liking to the binky, is no longer swaddled. Decided the other day that he does in fact like baby food (that took 2 months), likes to sit in the high chair versus the bumbo. He is working on his 3rd tooth. He still is not consistent with night time sleep and is unpredictable. Yes I am tired, but I also don't mind the extra snuggles and 2 and 5 am. Cooper is almost crawling. He gets on his knees, rocks, and lunges forward. He also can do a push up and get up on his toes. He is so stinking cute, I just love to kiss both kids!

Same age in the swing.

Here are both my babies at the same age in the high chair.

Picture Update

Always happy! 6 monthes old and has two bottom teeth.
Emma is officially potty trained. We have been out in public and worn panties to bed. Congrats little big girl who likes to call me "mommy Julie".
It snowed so Landon had 2 days off of school :). I did not complain. I love anytime he can be home.
He doesn't crawl yet but he sure knows how to play and somehow manage to mess up the whole living room.
I sure love my two little kids and husband.
